An elite vampire sounds like somebody with special powers (those gypsy tricks Spike refers to) and that would have a certain prestige among other vampires (Dracula is the Prince of Darkness)

First of all great story!
Second, I would say an Elite Vamp is one with his/her true potentil attained. Thusly as Drac has "gipsy tricks", Spike would have extra fighting ability (to use a pretty lame analogy, sort of like ministers in a government, each with a certain sat of abilities, strengths and duties). Just my two cents.

I'm sad to see this story end. But I must say I'm glad Angel is still broody. I like him miserable and unhappy as long as he's not making Buffy miserable and unhappy.

ok, first of all....floved that giles gave everyone who screwed up their spell detention. that gave me a big laugh! ooh, potential slayer as principal? that's a great twist! and poor Morty, i feel bad for him...maybe penn's still alive and went gay and he can have someone who's sorta like angel?
an elite vamp...guessing a vamp who's near the top...like spike in To the Victor.
