That is great. It could work as a stand alone and I say this grudgingly because I'm selfish and I don't want it to be a stand alone I want it to be a first chapter of a story that will be awesomely wonderful!

Definitely works as a one-shot...and maybe we'll get a sequel! *hint* I liked the li'l PTB convo in the beginning...gave me a chuckle. And I like the idea of Spike leaving for now to take care of Dru, but knowing he'd be back w/ Buffy again.
And I flove that THIS Buffy leaving @ the end of s2 seems much stronger than the one in canon. Great stuff!

Excellent Mary. You really could post this as a one shot. It would be great for a first chapter of something else as well, but if I were you I'd post it as a one shot ... and then maybe later take it farther or offer it up.

As far as unbetaed goes, this was very good. I'll leave more on the actual story. I'm glad you took this one further.
